I have a long day hike I like to do that is about 5 miles long. However, when the creek I have to cross is up, I have to either take my shoes off or get them wet. Well there’s one more option but I prefer not to alter my route. When I’m wearing waterproof mids I usually just take them off because the water xero terraflex will go over the top and then they are slow to dry. Due to the lightweight, almost mesh like constriction, I just walk across like nobody’s business. Of course this means I’m now hiking in wet shoes, but I found that if I wore light wool socks it really didn’t feel much different than hiking in dry shoes.
